5 months has come and gone since this little guy’s made his grand entrance into the world. To say that he is an absolute joy would be an understatement. I feel so privileged to spend all day with him. The way he explores his world fascinates me.
As of today, Caleb can roll over both back-to-front and front-to-back with ease, He’s still working on sitting up unassisted but all I really have to do is hold his hips so he doesn’t topple over, he’s got the upper body balance down. He looks where you point and will reach out for something he wants. A couple of times he has reached out and leaned forward to the person he wants to go to. His attention span is growing now that he is a little more capable of manipulating objects. He will sit on the floor and play with toys for a while before he’s ready to move onto something else. with those capable hands comes more pulling on hair and pinching arms. He has also perfected the fine art of screaming for attention. Nights really couldn’t be better right now and naps are predictable although I wish they were longer.
Solids are going well. He’s eating oatmeal in the morning and barley at night. He seems to already be getting pretty bored with cereal, but we’re waiting one more month to start other foods.
As I was editing these pictures, I couldn’t help but notice how much more Caleb looks like a little boy and less like a baby. I have to contribute part of that to his lean body shape. I think he may have one or two rolls on his thighs but that’s it. Andy was the same way as a baby and if you put their pictures side by side, their bodies are almost identical.
