Eczema

A few days ago, I noticed some red patches on Caleb’s arms. I was pretty sure I knew what it was and today, the Pediatrician confirmed it. Caleb’s got eczema. From what the doc said, Eczema that shows up in infancy shouldn’t be a problem later on. I’m skeptical about that though, I have super sensitive skin as well as Andy so this kid’s got a good chance of having skin sensitivity regardless. Knowing both of our skin issues, I was careful to use natural, fragrance free soaps, lotions and detergents since he’s been born but I think the dry climate is the main culprit. To treat it, I have to apply Cetaphil over his whole body three times a day for moisture and use Hydrocortisone cream for 7 days on the patches. Not a big deal at all.

Okay, while I’m here, I have to brag a little. The other night we were having trouble putting the little guy to bed. In an attempt to get him to sleep, all three of us were lying in bed and Andy was repeating “I loooove you” quietly to him. Then, clear as day, Caleb says “I love you.”  I know, I know. It was most likely a huge coincidence, but MAN! I just about peed my pants. We tried to get him to say it again but to no avail. It was so wierd since he’s only really been “oooh”ing and “aaah”ing and then suddenly he bursts out a whole sentence. If he does is again, I’m going to start filling out applications to Ivy League schools.
